Dear Friends,

We are writing to you today to share with you one of the most urgent needs we have had since we began our ministry here 8 years ago.

Over the last several years, we have faithfully ministered to our community, our church family, and the many people who have come to visit our mission from the United States and Canada. We have given our hearts and our lives to be the hands and feet of Christ in our area and we have repeatedly, and willingly, sacrificed the comforts and luxuries of life to do God's work. If we had to make the choice all over again, we would happily make the same decisions - to become His servants in this remote jungle village in the mountains of Honduras - doing what ever we could to take care of and minister to the the community that God has directed us to serve.

When God calls his people to serve - as He does for all of us - He lights our pathway (one step at a time) and provides the tools we need to do His work. We have seen this truth displayed over and over in our lives during our time at Sapadril. God has provided for us many "tools" to do his work over the last 8 years - from our house, to the dormitories (with air conditioning), to the church, the classrooms, the retaining walls, the swingset, the new outdoor kitchen, the medical clinic that is being built, computers and medical supplies and internet access and water filtration systems and most recently the woodworking tools to being the trade school that God placed on our hearts many years ago... the list is endless of all the many blessings that God has poured out on us as things we can use to do the work he has given us to do.

One of the most important tools we have - if not the most important of all - is Javier's pickup truck. This truck is used for almost everything we do - to transport our church family to and from the houses that are too far to walk by foot, to haul construction supplies, to take the sick and injured to Puerto Cortez for medical care, to carry the food provisions for the children from town, to pickup and and transport the luggage from the teams who come to visit. We don't see this truck as belonging to us, but rather, we know it belongs to God and all the people we serve - the church, the community, the teams from the US and Canada, the children.

Unfortunately, this most important tool on our toolbelt is missing right now - which has severely impacted the effectiveness of our ministry and will continue to do so until we are able to replace it. Our truck has seen us through 3 years of rainy seasons, rugged mountain roads, and over 20 visits from teams. We have spent over $7000 repairing the truck and keeping it going so far - and to repair it again this time will cost another $7000... and there will be no guarantees about how long the repairs will last. It is becoming a loosing battle to keep this important tool functioning for our ministry.

So we come to you and ask you to join with us to help us with this most serious need of ours... to help us replace our missing tool... to help us get back on track and help us be fully effective in our ministry to the people of Sapadril.

Just as Jesus fed the 5000 with just five loaves and two fish, we know that God will take what is given over to him and do something miraculous with it... but this miracle required an act of faith - a young boy to offer the small amount he had - for Christ to perform the only miracle that is mentioned in all 4 gospels. God can do amazing things as long as we take action and are willing to give what we have for his use. We ask you to pray about how God would want you to be involved in our project and what amount you could give Him for His use in our mission.
